  FEMA; Federal Emergency Management Agency

They lead the effort to prepare the nation for all hazards and effectively manage federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident. FEMA also initiates proactive mitigation activities, trains first responders, and manages the National Flood Insurance Program.

 
       
  IEMA; Illinois Emergency Management Agency

Protects the State of Illinois through integrated approaches of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.  Prepares, responds to, mitigate against, to recover from emergencies,  disasters, and/or acts of terrorism.

 
       
  IMERT; Illinois Medical Emergency Response Team

Responds to and assist with emergency medical treatment at mass casualty incidents, including, but not limited to, chemical, biological, and radiological incidents, when a need is identified. The team will respond when activated by the Director of Public health or designee in collaboration with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.

Promotes the health of the people of Illinois through the prevention and control disease and injury.
